Életrajz

Márton Kerékfy studied musicology and composition at the Liszt Academy of Music in Budapest (2000–2007) and received his Ph.D. in musicology (2015) from the same institution. In 2006, he spent one semester on an Erasmus Grant at the Mozarteum in Salzburg. Between 2008 and 2012, he was awarded the scholarship of Artisjus (the Hungarian association for the protection of authors’ rights), and in 2009 and 2010, he was also awarded the Zoltán Kodály Scholarship for young musicologists. He has won numerous composition prizes both in Hungary and abroad. His music has widely been played and broadcast, with premieres in such countries, among others, as Austria, Italy, the United States, Japan, and New Zealand. He is a Senior Research Fellow at the Budapest Bartók Archives of the Research Centre for the Humanities, Institute for Musicology, Budapest. He is an editor of the Béla Bartók Complete Critical Edition, as well as editor-in-chief at Editio Musica Budapest.
